Canceling Your Subscription

We're sorry to see you go — and we want you to cancel with confidence knowing exactly what happens to your data.

How to Cancel

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click Cancel Subscription at the bottom of the page
  3. You'll be asked for a reason (optional but appreciated — it helps us improve)
  4. Click Confirm Cancellation

Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after that date.

What Happens After Cancellation

Your Data Is Safe

RailScanPro does not delete your data when you cancel. Your entire inventory, photos, history, and settings are preserved in full for at least 12 months after cancellation. Founding Members get indefinite preservation.

Free Plan Fallback

After your paid subscription ends, your account automatically rolls back to the Free (Starter) plan:

  • You can still view all your items (read-only for items over the 100-item limit)
  • You can edit and delete items under the 100-item cap
  • AI Photo Scan is paused until you resubscribe

Marketplace Listings

Active marketplace listings are paused — they won't appear to buyers — but the listings are saved. They reactivate immediately when you resubscribe.

Club/Museum Accounts

If you're the administrator of a Club or Museum account:

  • Secondary members lose access to the club features at the end of your billing period
  • The club profile and shared inventory are preserved but not publicly visible

Reactivating Your Account

If you want to come back:

  1. Sign in to your account (your password still works)
  2. Go to Settings → Subscription → Reactivate
  3. Choose a plan and enter payment details
  4. All your data reappears immediately — nothing lost

If you were a Founding Member, your locked-in pricing and benefits are fully restored upon reactivation.

Requesting a Refund

RailScanPro does not issue pro-rated refunds for unused time on monthly plans. For annual subscribers, if you cancel within the first 14 days of a renewal, you may request a prorated refund for unused months by contacting support.
