On June 25, 1870, the Denver Pacific Railway completed its 106-mile line from Cheyenne, Wyoming Territory, to Denver, Colorado. The arrival of the first train sparked parades and economic optimism, ending Denver's isolation and fueling Colorado's mining and settlement boom.
