Your payment method is stored securely through Stripe — RailScanPro never stores your card number directly. Updating is quick and takes effect on your next billing date.
How to Update Your Card
- Go to Settings → Subscription → Payment Method
- Click Update Card
- You'll be redirected to a secure Stripe-hosted payment form
- Enter your new card number, expiration, and CVV
- Click Save — Stripe validates the card immediately
- You're returned to RailScanPro and the new card is now on file
Your old card is automatically removed when you save the new one. Only one card can be on file at a time.
Accepted Payment Methods
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
- Debit cards with a Visa/MC logo
- PayPal (US accounts only) — contact support to set this up
Annual subscribers can also pay by check or ACH bank transfer. Contact support for details.
If Your Card Was Declined
If a renewal attempt fails:
- You'll receive an email at your account address with a Update Payment link
- RailScanPro retries the charge automatically after 3 days, then again after 7 days
- After 3 failed attempts, your account enters a Grace Period — you can still access all your data but some features are limited
- Update your card at any time during the grace period to restore full access immediately
Your data is never deleted due to a payment failure. See Missing Data if you're concerned about data after a lapse.
Changing Your Billing Email
The billing email is separate from your login email. To change where invoices go:
- Go to Settings → Subscription → Billing Email
- Enter the new address
- A verification email is sent — click the link to confirm
Adding a Billing Address
For VAT or business accounting purposes, you can add a billing address under Settings → Subscription → Billing Details. This address appears on your invoices.
